Sounds like as daft question. On my 1150, the crash bars are angled so that they end up about 1" away from the pots on each side. On the 1200, am I right in thinking that on the nearside side they are 1" away from the pot, BUT on the offside they are 3" + away from the pot. Any one got BMW's bars fitted and can shed light on this for me. Sound logical, but looks a bit "pony " in practise.

Cheers fella's.......:beerjug:

Stand on the pegs and look down..

Because both cylinders share the same crankshaft they are offset: The nearside pot leads the offside by 1-2"...

Thanks Chris, got that bit, the GS engine has to be 'wonky' or else it couldn't work. SO are the BMW crash bars bars flat and not angled then?:nenau

In a word "yes".

They mount to the frame which is obviously symmetrical... I find I need to use different brushes for washing each side of the engine..

Thanks for that mate.Just the job.:thumb2

... I had Hepco & Becker bars on my '06, they were offset to accommodate the wonky boxer layout.

... They looked fine, you pays your money you takes ... :thumb
