Arse!- Broke me panniers!!

Thanks to my wife hurrying me to close my BMW system panniers, I have just snapped the red locking thingey clean off the near side case.
Is there any way of mending/ repacing it (without the use of Araldite, Blue Tac or Wrigley's, is it consigned to the bin??

Yeah, a divorcee and a night in your local night club should do the trick. I found Bicardi Breezers far more effective than Araldite....

Trouble with replacing the wife is, its just the same as replacing the lock, its an ongoing task.

It's now happened to me TWICE - ham-fisted or what? - I have complained to BMW but as yet no joy

Is this a common problem? or just me

I did my own investigation of the tag (red locking thingey) and decided it was made out of the worst possible material -brittle cast

Any thoughts?
