Art

Why not create some tassel art for the gallery ? In fact that's an idea we should have a tosser's art gallery !

I'll open up an art thread . :thumb2

It'll be full of 'opinionated silly billy shite' by 'dialectics' then. You related to Brian Sewell? :augie:barf:thumb2

i see Art in everything..... the rear suspension of a Panigale is Art to me, as is a fine pair of boobies, a Scupture by Gormley, a Building by Gaudi or a piece of post modernist architecture..... i also love Banksy, have no time for Tracy Emmin and marvel at Da Vincis drawings....do i get Art and Design muddled..... probably.... but if i enjoy looking at it, then to me its Art!

:D

+1 Could have been me talking if only I'd thought of it :augie :D :thumb

And Scupture has an "l"......... before tarka or sctum get here....

And what about that pretentious shyster, the con-man, Damien Hirst.....:rob

You'll guess I don't think much of his "art".

I saw an exhibition of his in Bibao and all it did was leave me feeling annoyed and irritated. Would that qualify as an art experience?

Art is the same as music if you listen and look without prejudice.......

i.e. There are only two types of art and music.

That which you like and enjoy, and those that you don't.

Mmmm not sure about that...

With most art and music I can be educated to like it or appreciate it over time. Most, not all, of Damien Hirst's offerings leave me cold and feeling he's taken the piss.

PS Good thread Pingu:thumb

PPS Why did you put it in the HD section? Is it because you know we're all sensitive art lover types unlike the ruffians to be found elsewhere on the site :D

Well alright then, I like that one too.....:D

I did say I didn't get "most" of his stuff.

It seems to me that once some artists have a 'name' they can get away with producing some pretty rubbishy stuff. Also applies to other artists, like photographers etc.

I saw a number of Tracy Emin scrawls at the RA Summer Exhibition recently. They were placed in amongst a whole load of other artists' work that were a fraction of the price of hers and at least as good for my taste. But this is art as investment I suppose, so nothing changes.

Some folk have said they could do better than say Hirst or Emin. They could easily be right so give it a try and collect those big prices.

Easy peasy innit?

You could put glitter on a turd, call it "End Game" or something and wonder why you didnt get those daft prices.

That bloke who said it was all 'opinionated shite' has gone a bit quiet though.
