Its the so called art that I struggle with. A beautiful painting or a sculpture where a large percent of people would agree, art lovers or not that that work was indeed artistic and showed great skills to produce it. I'm liking.:D
Then (let's call it splash it all over art) the other stuff where 90 out of a hundred people say its silly and shite, but the other 10 say from a self elevated position " you just don't understand art" etc etc. lot of snobbery and nonsense connected to so called art. I'm thinking crap. :barf

Well Cap'n, there's too much to tell you here so I'll just say that Van Gogh( for one example) sold one painting in his life. Folk thought his stuff was 'shite'. You talk about 'beautiful' - your uninformed opinion of beauty that is. Some art isnt meant to be beautiful. But it's not 'self elevated' to tell you don't understand. If you dont understand auto electrics, you don't piss on the electrician who says "you don't understand" electrics, do you?

You should still like what you like, but I'd avoid comments about most art being shite etc. Of course some of it is, and time will take care of that. Oh yes.

I wouldnt use the argument of most folk agreeing on something they say is beautiful. That means sod all, just as millions who buy the Daily Mail agree it's a good paper. But it's not, and here is the time for you to use your word 'shite'.

I would say the top one is a professional piece as it is three dimensional, the bottom one is by your kids....!:thumb
