Art

:thumb. Yes I appear to be simple to cretins such is the sheer logic of my case...but I have a brain the size of a planet....and you have an IQ of shoe size. I lurv you anyway:augie:bounce1

Ah yes.....your "sheer logic" that fails to differentiate between a child's scribble and an expensive piece of " fine art".... I think we know who the "cretin" is here...:thumb2

The fact that one of them may be from a 'respected artist' and one may be done by a child, and it is not obvious which is which, shows the stupidity of the whole 'art scene'.
Art collectors and critics judge by looking at the name first, then the painting second.

If its by a famous artist its 'wonderfully naive' Look how the artist has captured the childish simplicity, skilfully circumventing adult thought patterns, and returning, as only a true artist can, to deep seated, but still vivid memories, not consciously held in the mind, but flowing from his whole being, to the brush without thought or even having to look at his work. It just happened. He only saw what marvels he had achieved when returning to normality. ..... then sold it to some mug for 200 grand.

The other one is just a childs painting and shows no artistic flair.

I just made that up ... sounds good eh? Should I become an art critic?

I agree with what some have written. Art isn't just stupid paintings. There are wonderful examples of art in everyday life.
Its just a pity that the same word is used to describe the good and the shite.
