Hi all,
I have finally managed to get my ownership details attached to a V5 for an 1150. I just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the info and 'wisdom' that i've gleaned over the 18 - 24 months that i've been trawling the forum whilst attempting to beg/borrow/steal (i ended up doing the middle one, as the former didn't work and the latter isn't an option) sufficient funds to buy one. I've found a 2000 model in my favourite colour (no, no clues) - which i'm aware that a lot of you don't seem favour (suits me) - courtesy of CW. It's got high mileage (50K) hence being able to 'afford' it but again that suits me too - at least i know it's been used for decent journeys rather than subjected to short, infrequent ones and all the associated long-term problems that this can lead to.
Now i'm engrossed in trying to purchase and subsequently find time to fit all the mods that i've had info on from the site. Top of the list is a replacement screen. despite being a short-arse (5'6") i find the standard one totally unacceptable for wind buffeting etc. Opting for a Cee Bailey's one, once i've decided on dimensions (obviously width more important than height). Then lights, although i was surprised they were as good as they were given the amount everyone seems to despise them.
Main question though is intercoms. I need one. I'm prepared to opt for the Autocom (if i have to - £352 for the bike powered rider/pillion kit is fairly steep) but i'm also looking at the Graytronics 120B (£200 for a 'similar' set-up). They offer a 30 day money back guarantee so i'm likely to try them first, but does anyone have one and would you endorse the performance???
Thanks once again for all the info. i look forward to joining in again - both in person (when i can ride it well enough, find the right switches etc) and on the forum,
Cheers
