Hi guys, (Newbe Here)
I have just put the deposit on the 08, red, most of the bells and whistles, but after hiring a R1200GS for 3 days in New Zealand i was super impressed.
Past history for the last 28 years is BMW & Ducati, the R1150RS is a great bike but it has to go, the weight on the wrists is the reason.

I have decided on the Adventure as I like the fuel range (Australia) and "muscle" look, however having never riden one am afraid it will not be as "flickable" can anyoned put my fears to bed because its $$$ and I don't think they will want it back for the same $$$.

Also I think this is a great way to convince myself the GS is a good choice.

Be nice

Welcome to UKGSer darby695 ... I'll shift your post over to another section of the forum where I think you'll get a better response to your request.

Good luck, have fun and enjoy your stay with us :)

Welcome to the site Darb. Wouldn't worry about the "flickability" of the GS series as, I think most will agree, they turn with the best of them due to the wide bars and upright riding position. You won't be left behind in the twisties when in the company of sportsbikes, especially on the crap tracks we aussies call roads and I have never ridden a bike that handles as well two-up, as the GS. :thumb

Hey Pal,

Before you part with any more, read the servicing costs thread...they are horrific.

Yup, but he is out in the blue sky country so will be warm and riding when were freezing.....and riding:blast

You think?? We just had flooding two weeks ago and it is pissing down rain again today :blast Wanted to go away on the bike this weekend too but where we wanted to go is subject to flooding... :thedummy

Least its warm...

(actually its better to say its cool considering the weekend was 35°C with 80% humidity which according to my calculator equates to 47°C effective temp) :eek
