Cannot help you with camping, but why bother?

At €33 per night you get a nice dry room with a comfy bed, en suite bathroom, breakfast, free internet, indoor parking, drying room for your wet gear, nice company, route tips / GPS files, a cold beer as soon as you arrive, ...

Tents are for the army.

Can't help with camping but places like Lech, Landeck, Nauders & Imst make great bases for passes in the Tirol, Bavaria, Italy & Switzerland.

As the previous poster states, Austria has very good value accommodation. On the recent Dolomites trip we paid 57 euros for dinner bed & breakfast which means I would never consider using a tent. We stayed in Nauders here

Just be aware that you are in a valley there. Passed through last week and the rain was extremely heavy. Stick with a hotel.

You should head to Garmish in Germany, much much better location. Trust me on that !!! :thumb :thumb Roads around there are incredible. You can do 2 - 10 hr ride outs from Garmisch and reach a lot of places including the timmelsjoch pass and head back to Garmisch.

We charge 47 Euros for dinner plus B&B and you get a free pass to the Grossglockner etc thrown in. Plus we have some of the best roads in the Alps on our doorstep.
