Authorized Motorcycle Removal Van?

My mate at work says he saw a big white van this morning with an "Authorized Motorcycle Removal Unit" sticker down the side of it. I've never heard of this!! Is it leggit?! Are they just driving round 'removing' bikes at will?! Can't find anything about it on Camden Council website.

Treat it as suspicious ...

... until proven otherwise; you could do worse than contact the relevant Safer Neighbourhood Team direct by email and ask them if it's legit. the eMail will go direct to the Sergeant in charge of the team and you should get a response. If it's not legit then you may stop someone having their bike nicked; if it is, then you are better informed anyway.

Using this method I recently queried a CCTV equipped large black 4x4 in Woodford displaying a big sticker saying 'Working in partnership with Police' using this method. Got a positive response in a few days
