Does anyone have the above set up?

How easy is it to get the sat nav up and running and connect / pair it to the autocom? Also, ive heard that you can run your bluetooth phone through the tom tom and have your address book and recieve / reject calls too?

Does the mount for the bike come with the tom tom?

Does anyone know of any stonking good deals on an eu mapped rider 2?

Thanks for the help! :)

Hi Turraloon,

Can't help with all your questions I'm afraid, but I can confirm that the Rider 2 can be paired to many Bluetooth enabled phones, and then you can use the GPS to make/take calls.

This TomTom phone compatibility link may be useful to you.

The Rider 2 comes with a RAM kit to allow you to mount the device to the handlebars

The TomTom's can be used via our systems, either a Part 1273 or 1276 would be used to allow for a BT connection between our systems and the TomTom. Our dongles are classed as the Riders headset replacing the Scala Rider headset.

You then pair your phone direct to the TomTom classed as the phone or handset.

Be warned though they can be a nightmare to connect and the latest versions have a major software problem where the phone side can not be used but the GPS instructions are still being feed via any BT connection.

Rich,

Do you happen to know what version of the TomTom software? I know from experience that their updates can sometimes be a little flakey but it may be that the recent update cures the problem.

I ask because I was using mine over the weekend, admittedly with the old TomTom Rider 1 Bluetooth dongle connected into my intercom, and it worked perfectly. It has the latest software updates applied to it and is running Version 7.901.

Hi Iain,

As far as I know the latest version unless they have changed it causes the problems with the phone side not working. We have known about the problem for around 3mths now but unfortunately do not know of any updated versions.

GS Rich....you are right.

I have used my tomtom rider 2 since new with the original software and never had a problem making and receiving phone calls, the tomtom is paired with my autocom bluetooth dongle and sonyericsson w880i phone.

I have just updated my map to the latest version and also updated the frimware (software)

I can now no longer make or receive phone calls...here is what happens:

Incoming call:- caller identified on tomtom screen and ringing in my headset, i have mine set to auto answer after 3 seconds, when it does there is total silence, i have done this while parked and the call seems to be transferred back to the phone???

Outgoing call:- touch the screen and select phone, select phone book and select a number to call, press call and green telephone appears in top left corner, no ringing in headset but tomtom connects but absolute silence, call is on phone though....

TOMTOM have really messed things up!!!
