I have an Autocom / Zumo 550 system set up which I've bluetoothed to my mobile. Everything connects, the rider and pillion intercom is fine and I can make and receive phone calls. However when I make or receive phone calls - I can hear the them - but they can't hear me?? Can anybody shed any light?? if not, I guess it's off to my nearest Autocom dealer.

I had the same issue.

My successful solution was to use an a/com bluetoothe dongle (schoolboy error on my part).

I then b/t my phone to the zumo 550, and the a/com dongle to the zumo, thus using the zumo as the hub.

Then, make sure your microphone (the beige bit in particular) is centred with your mouth.

A final adjustment is to ensure the volume settings on the a/com unit are set high enough so you can be audible @ higher speeds.

Thanks Keith. I also have the Autocom BT dongle but I'm not sure it's working as it should. If I attempt to pair the Zumo with any local devices (phone switched off) it doesn't see the dongle. Also, the red LED inside the dongle doesn't light. I've tried resetting the dongle by pressing the internal button for 10 seconds etc., but still no joy. I've also tried pairing my phone with the dongle - again the dongle doesn't show. I'll check the power out from the Autocom Pro Avi unit, if that's OK, looks like the dongle's dead. Thanks again.

Hi mate

I've got an active plus system, so aux 1 must be used with the a/com dongle on this sytem, and with the super pro avi as the power output is enabled.

If the dongle is in aux 1, this should enable the LED indicators - if not, then it could be that the aux 1 hasn't had the power output enabled.

Also, the a/com b/t dongle has an auto answer function built in, so your phone needs to have the auto answer function off in both 'headset' & 'hands free' facilities. You can then answer/make calls via the zumo.

I'm not too much of a techy - only what I've learned from the site - I had to trouble shoot my system following it's installation (which was done by a professional), just to make sure all components were aligned correctly.

If you run a search on 'autocom', there are hundreds of pieces of useful info - just takes a little time to get the completer answer, but you do learn alot on the journey.

Scala q2

Friend and I bought the pair of scala bluetooth sets for bike to bike. That part worked well but the unit will not fit well to a BMW system 5 helmet. They were not working properly and had to be sent back to America. We had to pay the postage and waited a month for their return. Not impressed and will be telling the chap from Scala who is giving a talk at the KAMG soon. I wish I had bought the BMW unit. Catch 22. Do I buy another bluetooth device or cchange the helmet
