I want to power my Intaride IR-803 from the bike but I inderstand that just using the false battery that I have for the radio and taking power from the bike power loom is not good news. Autocom told me that I am likely to suffer ground loop problems.

However I then thought I could take the power from AUX 5 on the Autocom 300 by connecting onto the RED (Volts out) and Ground Screen pins of my PTT cable.

My question is, will I get 12v though? I read somewhere about 9v being output !

Does anyone know ?

Thanks.

The Super Pro only offers a 9v power connection so it would all depend on what power the Wintec would need to run for the power.

Rich, the battery eliminator says, power input 12v and power output 7.95 volts.

Question is I guess, if I only stick 9v into it, will I still get 7.95 volts out or will it be reduced accordingly.

Or, do you rate my chances of running it from the bike power without getting ground loop probs?

Or, 12v from bike loom, ground from AUX5, would that elimnate ground loop. Sorry if that is just plain stupid, just a thought. I don't know what ground loop is.

Thanks.

Am picking off power for the A80 battery eliminator from the backside of the rear accessory socket on a R1200RT - works just fine
