Long shot but this seems like a good place to ask.

Anyone have any idea how old these units are and if they'll accept an audio connection from a GPS? Also how much they're worth now?

I have one of these. Been using it for the last 5 years without any problems. Yes you can connect a GPS voice through it.
Whats impressive it can be connected through the music socket or through the aux ( grey plug ). I have mine connected through the music socket cos I also have a bike to bike running through the aux socket. Even better if you have one with a metal top plate it also provides bike power for the radio.
Impressive I think you will agree for an early unit.
You will need specific leads to use any of these facilities, but a quick call to Autocom and they will tell you everything you need.

Haven't a clue how much they are worth. But I've got one fitted to my r1150gs. Get the garmin to Autocom adaptor think its about 26 quid. The eurocom is an old five pin DIN design and as a rider to pillion vox works up to 60-70 only with earplugs in on the gs because of screen wind noise. GPS instructions can be heard up to 80 or 90 with the 2610 set to 10 on the volume i.e. max!

On the other hand if you are only interested in listening to the GPS. I fitted mine to my GSXR600 and they made me up a 5pin DIN to 2.5mm jack lead (they have an off the shelf option for seven pin DIN headsets). I ran this down the left hand fairing stay along the centre fairing stay and cable tied it to the cabling under the tank. The five pin socket is brought up at the junction of the seat and the tank. I connect this to my lid via a curly lead. The headset connected to the 2610 via the lead (no autocom) works superbly (better than with the autocom eurocom) audible at >100mph with earplugs in volume set to 5!!

If I were doing it on the cheap and was only intersted in gps audibility Id go for a 7pin DIN headset at 45 quid and a cable at about £20. Its a nice neat functional solution. :D

Oh yes and autocom are a very good company to deal with. They made the lead up to my specs for the Suzuki and I ordered it on a Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday. Good service for one of their obsolete designs.
:)

Cheers for that guys.
