Autocom on an LC RT with BMW audio

Richard, don't forget make sure that your Autocom will work with the Sat Nav-V which is bluetooth only for sound. You may need some kind of dongle!

That's exactly what Sam told me. My 1200R came with a Nav V, but I already had a 660 on my RT. Sam explained this difference between the two, so I kept my 660 & sold the Nav V. He does know "stuff" when it comes to Autocom.

Hi,

I have the Autocom hardwired on my bike from the audio and with a bluetooth adapter for the GPS. My phone connects to the GPS and is available for phone calls via the Autocom. This was fitted by CW's in Dorchester.

In order to fit this you need the Speaker adapter kit as the Autocom uses the speaker output (matched through a provided transformer) to input to the Autocom. What this means is that you maintain the use of the multifunction wheel for control of volume etc. I went with the option with a selector switch so at a flick of a switch I can use the built in speakers (normally for washing the bike!) or turn the speakers off if Im using the Autocom Headset.

I love this setup as I tend to ride using in-ear monitors in place of earplugs (my monitors remove 30dB's) and the audio quality is great from radio, MP3 and GPS. When I get a phone call the radio or music is volume reduced automatically whilst the phone call is in process, its really neat!.

hope this helps.

The Autocom on my RT, which is a TC, not LC, is wired into the BMW audio system, not Bluetooth'ed.
As mentioned above though, a complication arises if the OP intends to use a Nav V.
A 660 or Nav IV has audio output & works well, but with the Nav V you have to use a dongle - if I've understood Sam correctly.
