Autocom phone interference

Hi ya tossers Can you help?
Just hard wired up Autocom kit 300. Got Autocom lead for my phone, Sony Ericcson K800i. hard wired to helmet with all Autocom parts. Engine and ignition off. Took phone call on hands free auto answer. Bad bleeping popping sound. (Aux1). moved phone away from autocom unit. Interference stops at the very rear of the bike (GS 1150).
There is nothing electrical switched on apart from the Autocom Unit.

Is this normal or is the Autocom unit not working properly?

Are you hearing the normal phone signal as if its picking up a signal? As if the phone is ran on top or close to the main control unit everytime the pohne gets a different signal you will hear it via the comms.

Thanks for the reply Gsrich. It's not a normal phone signal, but a very loud (hurts ears) beeping or popping sound. If I move the phone closer to the Autocom unit, the noise gets louder. It sounds a bit like an unsuppressed engine interference. But the engine wasn't running nor anything else nearby
