I have the Autocom super pro avi 300 set up on my 2005GS. The problem is as follows. When i have a pilloin on the back and all plugged in, the wind noise coming from the pillions mic is unbearable. I first thought that it might be the Arai tour x causing the problem, i was told that because of the gap behind the chin bar, this might be trapping turbulance. It appears not so. I have swapped helmets and leads and the problem only happens when any helment is plugged in to the pillon connection. I have had a look at the main unit and there is only the VOX control to play around with but seeing as the rider connection works well, i am a bit reluctent to touch. It seemed like the boom mic is too sensative at first so i bought a cover to go over the original. Still no joy. any help more than appreciated. :nenau

It needs the wind sock that autocom do, that should sort it out no problem, my pillion had the same for a while.

The Arai X does make things worse thou.

Autocom problem

Thanks for that Shaun but the problem only exist when the helmet is plugged in to the pillion connector. I wore my shoei and plugged it the pillion and same problem. I agree about the tour x and i will be putting on the for sale section soon as i cant get on with it but the problem is definitely from the pillon side. I tried the wind sock or i think i have, is it the open face boom kit.

adjust the vox so you have to speak louder, contact Sonic at Birmingham and see if they will sell you couple for their police mic socks for a few pence. Mine work 1000% better than Autocoms open face helmet socks.

Have the same problem when SWMBO is on the back with her open face helmet. I have wound the passenger vox as far as it will go. The last millimeter of turn seemed to make all the difference. It is now OK up to about 95mph. She has the autocom sock on it.
