I know this may be a daft question but apart from disconnecting the mike, is is possible to mute its effects?
When riding solo I don't want to hear myself talking, singing, breathing or shouting and swearing at cars. Nor do I need to speak on the phone.
All I need is to hear my music (via Zumo) and my gps directions.
Kit 300 duo by the way, which other than the above (and no curly lead as standard) I am very pleased with.

There a a control on the Pro sport that set the cracking sensitivity of the vox on the autocom. If there is one on yours set it to the highest level and the vox won't cut in and you won't hear youself in the speakers. The phone will still work, just you won't hear yourself in the speakers when on the phone.

I'm going to fit a PTT kit as the rain hammering on my visor today kept the vox open even with an open face kit fitted

You can not turn off the side tone on the Super Pro and the system is different to the Pro-7 where you could of cranked up the VOX level fully hard.

PTT wise this will only help you if you are running bike to bike btw, it will not make any difference at all if you are not running bike to bike. It can not be used to allow for you to cut the mics when you are out by yourself.

You can do if you want or the simpliest way would be if you have the room is to move the mic away from your lips so the mic can not pic up your voice.
