popped in to autocom HQ today almost un-announced (a phone call half an hour before i arrived).....a very patient man answered all my school boy questions for 20 minutes or so and then spent 30 minutes doing a wiring modification to my kit 300 (so it will work with the soon to be relaeased autocom bluetooth dongal) F.O.C / there and then......

perfect service again from autocom..... took an hour (?) of the guys time completely F.O.C and spur of the moment / almost no warning......

I've never dealt with a company that has better service. Called them from France last year following a small off that ripped the cables out of the GPS - the new cables were at our hotel in Switzerland 2 days later. Cost them more for the postage than I paid for the cable.

Steve / GSRich,

Do you know when the bluetooth dongle is going to be released, approx how much it will cost and will it fit onto the R1200GS?

When I bought my autocom I was told that the current bluethooth device was too big for the GS... However I see in the autocom 2007 brochure there is a new bluetooth device, but no price..

Thanks. Would mean 1 less thing to plug in before setting off.

Plus, I agree 1st class service from Autocom. Brilliant company! :clap

price not yet been set -
2-3 weeks (according to the fitter i spoke with at their HQ)

the dongal needs a power supply-

a bit like a device you might pug into a computer - some are powered from the usb / firewire......likewise the dongal is powered direct from the autocom black box (through the line out) - you need a modification internaly to send power down the aux port one....(i think).....

the guy did it to mine and took him 20 minutes or so....he says it's very easy mod. to do -

Thanks Steve, very informative and very quick reply.

I assume, as your profile says you have a 1200GS, and you are planning to get one, it will fit the 1200GS?

Be great not to have to plug the phone in before a trip.

I live near the autocom dealer in Leamington, so easy to get the part and the mod.. :thumb2

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

it will fit any bike........:augie ......i am not sure if it will fit older autocom systems because of the power sent through the aux socket.....(and you will need to get the mod. done as i described before) :thumb2

We are just having our boards made as we speak, we are aiming to have the parts ready for the tail end of this month. Price wise £70-80 we are hoping for.

There will be two different versions, one will be self powered via our Active Plus or Super Pro AVi and a more retro version with a seperate power lead for our older systems.

The Nokia kit we supply is a a car based kit and is a bit too big to be fitted on the GS's I have seen it done but the fit was not the best and it was very noisy due to interfence from the bike itself.

Our modules will be in the same tip boxs as we use for our GPS splitters so they are a lot smaller and will fit on any bike.

Steve, I will pass your comments onto Andy for you. I think he did your bike for you.

Cheers

Rich :beerjug:
