I have an 09 GSA and I asked the dealer to fit Autocom and Xenon HID lights.

Since I got the bike the comms have been less than useless. The lights are great.

The dealer has been on the phone to Autocom and did not find them helpful. However, he has apparently got the thing working but with a lot of interference.

The set up is as follows;

A Zumo 550 bluetoothing to mobile phone. Works perfectly and calls can be made through the Zumo. However, no sound gets to helmet. When you talk the helmet mike picks up the speach and it can be heard in the earphones.

Haven't managed to check how bad the interference is but it seems significant.

Does anyone know if the Autoom (Pro 3 if I remember correctly) is compatible with Xenon lights?

How do I surpress interference?

Is my Autocom faulty?

Should I give up and revert to string between helmets?

The Xenons are here to stay.

You haven't said how you have the Zumo connected to the Autocom.

The whole idea is to set up a process of elimination. Console yourself that I have not heard of any K1200GT owners with the Xenon HID headlight option have problems with their Autocoms.

If is connected via an Autocom bluetooth dongle, the first thing to do is to by-pass the zumo and pair the phone directly to the Autocom Bluetooth dongle.
Do you still get interference?

If yes, move the dongle and phone as far away from the HID ballasts as possible. Do you still get interference?

Turn off the lights. do you still get interference?

If yes, disconnect the phone for the time being.

Hardwire the stereo output of the Zumo directly into the autocom music port with a 3.5mm stereo cord.
Do you still get interference over the hardwire connection?

Sooner or later you will come up with a combination of things that cause the interference.

good hunting!

I have a set of HID 50 lights, the zumo 660 and the Autocom 300 on my F8GS, so not exactly the same.

I don't notice it with the dipped light, but with the main beam, i get a 'little' interference (crackeling sound) when the main beam is turned on. This lasts ~1min and then goes.

Please confirm the connections to your phone -> sat-nav-> intercom. I get terrible sound quality when i use the sat-nav bluetoothed to my intercom, but it's ok when hard wired. Try the permutations i outline in my other topic to see if that helps identify the issue
