I have an 06 1200gs fitted with an active7 smart autocom system. Never had any problems until yesterday when we started to get a whining noise through the headphones obviously being picked up from the ignition system.(increasing and decreasing with revs) Intermittent at first and then constant. Drove me bonkers, had to unplug autocom. Anybody out there have any explanation as to the cause please

Anything used on the bike apart from the Autocom like:

GPS
Music
Phone
Radar detector
Bike to bike radio

Are any / none of them bike powered?

Where's the power for the unit taken from? What have you changed, if anything?

Noise change might be the alternator as it's speed changes with the engine speed.

autocom wired to back of aux socket by bmw when bike was new. nowt else on there. Nothing has been changed. twas fine on the weekend as always :nenau

Yes, I had that too, some time ago - drove me and the wife mad!. Unit is picking up bike's electrics. I seem to remember just disconnecting the whole unit from the battery, effectively rebooting it, and its been fine ever since.
