Hi All,

Can someone explain in laymans terms what an Autocom can do ? I'm interested in what sort of phone you can use with it, and can you call someone on the move, and if so how ? Could you connect the new Tom Tom Rider into it which has it's own blue tooth headset ? And finally will a bluetooth Autocom be available soon ??

Hope someone can help me out.

Cheers,

Hi Andy,

The Autocom (and other systems such as Inta Ride, Starcom etc) are modular and expandable so you can go from the basic to the all singing all dancing version.

At a basic level it lets you plug your GPS, Music (MP3 or Walkman or Radio - anything with a 3.5mm jack plug) and phone in so you can hear them though speakers mounted in your helmet. This all connects through cables.

You can add features such as being able to talk to your pillion or to other bikes fitted with an Autocom, Inta Ride, Starcom etc.

Most phones are compatible but you may need to buy an adapter cable (mine was £2.50) It's useful to have a phone with voice dialling and answering.

Autocom already do a bluetooth kit but it's actually a Nokia car kit (I can't remember which one but do a search on the forum and you'll find it - it's cheaper from Nokia) It's huge and not waterproof.

Hope that helps
