Would anybody have a picture or even an illustration of where the handle bar clamp mounted aux light switch plugs into the rest of the aux lights loom.

I want to take off the switch as it is not being used and in the way but I don't want to cut the cable in case I want to use it in the future.

Thanks in advance.

Jaysus, looks like it's under the tank??

Think I'll just cut the cable and tie it up!!

Yeah....the wires are moulded into the back of the switch right.

I'd like to disconnect it from the loom when I remove it from the handlebars.......they are a very expensive part, I'd like to not butcher it so maybe it could be reused/sold.

The OEM Adv switch is replaceable for not too much money. They are pretty rubbish TBH. They come complete with wire so I cut the wire off mine and used a toggle switch. More reliable and at least the switch block has something to fill the hole.

I'll just cut it so.

It's not being used anyway.........previous owner fitted a set of SW Motech Hawk spots in place of the BMW ones. He left the entire original loom including switch.

My long range spots came with a handy handlebar switch. I thought the toggle looked neater.

Thanks for that.

I ain't doing that much stripping to save a switch I may never use................I'll get the snips out!!!!

I will be getting my ABS removed and refurbed after Xmas.........my mechanic will have to strip in that far to get the ABS pump removed ??? (if so I'll leave it until then)

You can save some expense by removing plastic parts yourself (beak and black covers). You can leave the petrol tank cover on though I always like to take it off.

Thanks for that.

The OEM spots switches are crap TBH. Many have been replaced by BMW for them to fail again. I simply snipped the wire against the old switch stripped the ends back and fitted connectors for the new switch. It will easily each the beak top.

With such extensive work, you may want to consider stripping the front brakes - pistons out the lot. If ok reassemble with original seals. Any pitted piston will need a new kit £60 a side. Not cheap but better than sticking brakes.
