My trial licence for this runs out in three days. It seems to have been OK, but what's the advice - buy it or use something else?
Thanks

and i have been known to visit some very dodgysites
I have the "pay for" AVG AV and it has a number of features the free one doesnt. E.G. Resident Shield which actively checks all the files you open or run on your PC. You never know what "lurks" behind program .exe

Me too.
Not very PC literate and fancied the ease of one suite with the various bits and bobs in - spyware, firewall, anti-spam, anti-virus etc. Very easy to use, doesn't slow the machine down like McAfee did and the customer service when you've got a question is 1st class.
I've tried both Norton and McAfee in recent years and AVG wipes the floor with them.

Uninstall AVG in ad and remove programs..re-boot. Go to "Download.com" and get AVG again for free. Install and update then re-boot again.
Its up to you if you install "zonealarm",the free one can reck your PC with a corrupt update (only on the free version). Go to "download.com" and search for another free firewall.."Ashampoo 1.2 or Agnitium Outpost" are ok.
DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING ON THE "VISTA OS" THAT IS NOT "VISTA" COMPATABLE. Hope this helps.
