AVG Free version.

My Version has been trying to update itself now for over half hour.
Normally all this updating takes place on start up but not tonight.

It tells me its updating but after about 3 mins it displays that the connection has been lost.

Whatcha reckon??

Mines given me the same error message this evening. Looks like a problem with AVGs server?

I have more than one computer. The two which I have updated to version 8 have updated immediately. The version 7.5 is doing exactly the same as you describe.
Either update to version 8 or else just wait until they sort out the problem.

you can manually download the updates from
http://free.avg.com/ww.download-update for v8 or
http://free.avg.com/ww.download-update-7 for v7

Personally, I've ditched AVG in favour of the free version of Avast, www.avast.com

I have version 8 for about 3/4 months now. Only problem I have had so far.

Just tried the links you gave earlier.

I get the option to "Find" "Save" or cancel.

The 4 are either an .avi file or a .Bin file.

Am I missing something here.

The prog is still doing the same as last night.

dunno then, mine regular does it for 1 to 2 nights, i just ignore it, and it sorts itself out
