chap from Devitt rang today, "you haven't renewed your insurance." He did not seem surprised when told of the price differential offered by Aviva and the real world. He admitted defeat.

Aviva quoted a 52% increase in premium for my car renewal. Naturally I said no thanks.
“Before you go..” said the bot. ‘If you remain we will reduce the premium by…53%”.
I suppose you can’t blame them for trying it on but circa 50% seems more likely to lose customers than a customary 3-5% due to costs etc
