Hi Folks,

does anybody know what the above tyre should run at, I checked the Avon site but it's a bit vague they say 36 front 42 rear which seems a bit high, and there no mention of sole/ sole+luggage etc....

?

cheers

Heavy Bike and a big sidewall load

I am pretty sure Tourance run at those pressures too

Hey Do me a favour after you get a few miles let me know what ya think of them?

I'm thinking of going to them instead of road bias tyres plus they are the only ones that do my bikes tyre sizes

I'd start at 36F & 42R and then drop them in 2 PSI increments to find what feels best. However, it might well be that 36 & 42 are the best pressures. Bike and tyre manufacturers have been working together for some time to standardise motorcycle tyre pressures at those figures.

So does that mean it doesn't matter your carrying just use the above ?

36/42 felt fine but this is my first set of trail type tyres so I have nothing to compare it against just those figures felt high compared to my 020's which where 32/36, my pal runs battlewings and he use's 32/36 (both bikes are 1150GSA, I assume as they have a higher sidewall than a road only tyre, they need a higher pressure ?

cheers

Ran a set of Distanzias a couple of years ago. Bit strange for the first couple of hundred miles. Bizarrely they felt a bit stiff and like they needed breaking in! Ended up doing about 6500miles on them and was happy with the way they performed wet and dry (they would have done a bit more, but an offer of cheap replacements just before a big trip meant I changed them early). I was tunning them a bit below the pressures you mention, about 34/38.

we'll I done a few miles on then dry & wet mixed roads and town riding, and I think these are fantatic.

They turn in better than my old 020's the feeling of grip is great, I've yet to try them loaded up but will be doing thay when I'm off to Applecross next weekend.

can highly recommend these tyre and there reasonably priced.
