I know I live in France, but it's a big place. Does anyone happen to know a friendly reasonably priced B&B near Marmande for an overnight stop.?? I'm off down to the Pyrenees for a 7 day camping trip beginning the 16th. All the B&B's listed on the web are horrendously expensive!

Yeh but he is asking for a B & B near a specific town not for a geography lesson.

Yeah but, in teen-speak it like probably helps if he like gives everyone a vague clue like as to where Marmande is, to save them having to search for it, like. Not least as he like asks for suggestions like 'near Marmande', like. As he says, France is a big place, like. No doubt you'll need a map to find it, like.

My suggestions are: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...ande+chambre+d'hote&spell=1&biw=1920&bih=1017

Now that you know where Marmande is (and maybe France, too) what do you recommend, like.......?????

Is it me, B4ndit?
Wapping - I'd have thought that if anyone on here had knowledge of a good B&B near Marmande, they would know where the Town is...

Indeed so. But given that Marmande has the same population of Louth*, what do you suspect the chances are, beyond some bod having passed through the all but nameless French town en-route somewhere else?

Now, your suggestions as to a dirt cheap B&B near Marmande are? Come on, I've pumped in mine.

*Hub o'the universe, some might think.

Fair point. Clearly no-one on here has passed through Marmande. But it's a noted producer of tomatoes, a festival dedicated to tomatoes is held annually in July.

Without wishing to interrupt, which of course I am, I have been through Marmande.
Didn't stop though so don't know about B & B's there.
And it wasn't the tomato season either if memory serves correctly.
Sorry, no help at all really.

Excellent. Match it up with Cavaillon, world capital of melons (conveniently twinned with Pama in Italy) and you'll have the making of a basic salad.

I don't know, ask a perfectly valid question and ....... ( mea culpa perhaps for not being more specific!). I was hoping, (perhaps unreasonably) that as this site has member travellers which pass through France quite regularly, someone might just have stayed there. Similarly, there are UkGSer residents in France who might know something. No harm in asking,--- on the other hand it would appear that the SA's think there is!.

You is wicked Richard. Innit ! :D. :thumb2

.

Passed BY it a few times en route from Nice to Bordeaux, but never in it. I find most B&B's in France are quite expensive, but tend to be excellent quality. If you're looking for a cheap stopover, I've always found the ETAP hotels to be excellent value.
There's one (well, now Ibis Budget a few kms out)
