Wapping and I of this Parish are making our annual pilgrimage to Cardiff in May for the Amlin and Heineken Cup finals (Arms Park and Millennium respectively). Havingb trawled through various web sites, it appears that all of the hotels in Cardiff (and most in Newport) are full.

Can anyone recommend / suggest a decent B&B on the outskirts of Cardiff please? We would need a minimum of two rooms for Friday and Saturday night 23rd and 24th May.

Too local for me to have any real experience or knowledge of these places in Barry or Barrybados as it's known locally, a 20 min train ride from Cardiff city centre, one of them may fit the bill, I'd join you for a beer but will be sunning myself somewhere at the time most likely........
Good luck :thumby:

Both of these a 2 minute walk from Barry train station

Or try Penarth, slightly nearer to Cardiff but also well served by the railway, this place is close to Penarth station, slightly better class of drunk in Penarth I'm told

Also in Penarth but out in the sticks a bit and a long schlep from the railway station is this place, very nice and reassuringly expensive ;)

Not stayed in any of em, but have been very drunk and eaten in the Gwaelod loads of time.

Haven't been up the Gwaelod for years, looks really nice now, will have to pop up for a beer to check it out.

Stayed here in the past.
