well we are back from some of the best roads ive ever ridden, too many to write down col de iseran, bourg st maurice, cluzas, mont blanc etc etc.weather ranged from 21 to 37 degrees, also the electrical storm we had on our second night was the best ive ever witnessed(in a tent as well:eek:)and the scariest.the roads is a must for anybody who rides a bike, the only downside was the cost of living in france has trebled since i was there 2 years ago,ask my mate about the back tyre he had to replace (260euros)robbing gets the french,im now planning a trip for next year to black forest, swiss alps, italian alps any body got any good routes, bandbs ,hotels please feel free to pm or email me :augie.

If you're in Switzerland look at the area around Andermatt. Some of my favourite roads in Europe down there, we got back a fortnight ago from another brilliant trip. 5 of the 6 biggest Swiss passes are in the area, the Furkapass, Nufenenpass, Sustenpass, Grimselpass and the St Gotthardpass. The St Gotthard even gives you the choice of the modern fast pass and the old cobbled road. Check out www.alpineroads.com for inspiration. There's the Oberalppass too.

Oh, I want to go back now!!!!!! But I'll have to wait 'till September.

just back today!!
black forest (wet)
andermatt
fantastic roads but not cheap (see France) apart from petrol
over to bourg st maurice, and pass frenzy
iseran galibier telegraph montets cormet de roseland (a personal favorite) etc etc...
and a 2 hour thunderstorm that put more rain down than I could beleive as we came back thru chaminox and the motorway down the valley in the rush hour:eek: and lasted all way back over to bourg viua coremt and col de saisies
everything in france has trebled in price!! still cheaper tham switzerland tho'
then back thru to black forest (dry)
bits of b500 but lots of twisties too altbruck tal a special
then up to eiffel mountains (wet)
and belgium (expensive)
and back
phew 12 days and am now chilling with beer

andermatt good for passes...central to the best but a bit "quiet"

now looking forward to next year
