Only a few days left before I reach Bothell WA. I'll keep on round the Olympic coast line, having ventured up Mt St Helen today, before hitting the coast this evening at Aberdeen. Should be home and over the 10k mileage by Thursday. Not bad considering the original plan was 5500 over 8 weeks and we are looking at 10k in 6 weeks. Remember minimal interstates, so far under 20 miles and 12 of those were on day one escaping Atlanta. No chain restaurants, accommodation, or stores (gas and the banks being the only monopolistic monsters that are unavoidable).
Not sure yet why I've done it. I'm working on that, but I have crossed coast to coast and down to the gulf, without knowingly using corporate giants and sticking to unique places and services and never visting the same place twice.
Seemed like a good idea at the time.
