Any one out there use a backchat? I used one for years but that was10 years ago..........I just wondered if they are still as popular as they once were. I see a lot of people banging on about various electronic intercoms.....where to mount them, how to power them etc...

So, anyone still using the tubes??

Backchat etc.

I borrowed one off a friend once and tried it, seemed to work ok and I have seen them mentioned in a bike mag not so long ago. To be honest, I have never seen the reason nor had the desire to talk to my pillion, other riders or anyone else for that matter while riding. One of the reasons I enjoy riding is the fact that nobody can contact me and the thought of talking on the phone while riding seems plain silly to me. But perhaps that is just me practising to be an old fart :rob, and I used to think similar things sbout GPS systems until I tried one....

I have been using one for years,i only bought it for long boring trips on motorways etc.
I think it is an excellent bit of kit, apart from the fiddle of putting the earpieces in before puting your lid on.You don't get any interference with wind noise even at motorway speeds, only problem we had was that my missus has a caberg flip front helmet and the mic moves a bit every time she flips the front up or down, and if the mic isn't right in front of your lips it doesn't work very well.
How much are they now?
I think i paid £20 and think it was money well spent.
