Recently had a 18k service done in Cardiff. (Top Job Done)

Wasnt sure about posting a complaint but.....

Service noticed that....

Rear wheel had been PERMANATLY Thread locked after last tyre change :spitfire

Was told that rear brake calliper piston rings needed replacing 3hrs+ labour:eek:
However, service proved that nothing wrong with them????

This was all done by 1ST GEAR in Bridgend.

Not sure what to do.
Extra work required to sort rear wheel....£££
money saved as brake piston rings do not need replacing...... (so just a lie)

Do I go to garage and kick up a fuss??
or just avoid and learn a lesson:nenau :nenau

the question is how are you going to prove it??:augie

im sure the good garage wont want to be embroilled in a bunfight with someone else, take it on the chin and dont go there again.:blast

and maybe learn to do some of the maintenancs for your self, its not all rocket science!!! and potentially save a small fortune if you do it right so you can spend more at touratech????:thumb

Slimbo.
I Agree somwhat to what you are saying, but
I cant change a tyre, and would not replace the brake caliper rings myself as this is a specialist job for the BMW mechanics.

I can do the "basics" but these jobs are out of my depth. (and clearly out of 1ST GEARs)
Sometime you have to trust the garages. Surely that is what they are there for

ps. Sorry if this sounds like a harsh reply, it is not meant to be. I am greatful for any advice available form others! (thats what got me in trouble in the first place I guess!!)

i do agree kev but tbh you have done the job of letting us know that 1st gear are not as good as they wish?

as for the maintenance , there is very little a confident jnr spanner man cant do re maintenance, if you need any advice (i is a experienced spannerer meself )give us a shout , as help and advice is always free ...
