Hi stupid me again ,just got my Baglux harness in poest ,Im daft cant fit the bugger any ideas please
cheers Wes
:beerjug:

It's easy, Wes.

Lay it on tank.
Top strap goes around and under yoke.
Side straps go behind throttle bodies and around frame rail on underside on tank.
Front straps go under Beak and up inside to bars that run diagonally on inside flank of Tank, adjacent to oil cooler pipes.
Bottom front straps go side to side under tank, either side of front Telelever shock.
There Wes - done it from memory...........as good as with your eyes shut.

Top Tip

Wash the Tank thoroughly, chamois leather to dry it,then polish with a quality polish like Mer,before fitting. That'll keep your tank in tip top nick......

HARNESS

EXCEPT THAT SIDE STRAPS NOW HAVE HOOKS ON THE END SO CAN'T GO AROUND THE HROTTLE BODIES ANYMORE!!!
ANY IDEAS ANYONE - MINES JUST ARRIVED TOO!

Re Hooks

Any chance of a picture, cos I aint seen a baglux for GS's with hooks on. Mine is exactly the same as John says and has been on the last two harnesses.

Sherpa

Its a pity is yellow, my mate wants a black one.

Are you gettin' an adv then ? or is it a large tank on a standard GS. ?

Sherpa - only the 30 litre ADV Tank has hooks, the 1100/1150 Stock 25 litre Tank ones are as my explanation, with straps and no hooks.

HARNESS

THANKS JONNY B!!!
AND YES IS THE ANSWER JIM B
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ON A SATURDAY?;)

Sherpa

Having a winter break but i'll be back first Sat in March then first sat of each month till November, went out with Mike & Rob on thursday, brilliant day, they are both excellent riders I really enjoyed it, on the way back Rob was cracking on and I was following, working on the principle my bike is more powerfull with better radial tyres I should be able to keep up with him on his much thinner cross ply tyres, but it was close.

Re Baglux harness straps

the straps with the hooks are a pain to fit especially with crash bars fitted(the hooks eventually tear through the webbing) nip down to focus do it all,or any good hardware shop and buy a 2m length of 20mm webbing, cut into 4 pieces and sew a loop in one end (timpsons the shoe people will do it for you on their heavy duty sewing machine if you are no good with a needle and thread)feed this round the frame rail and pull the free end through the loop---job sorted and cheaper than buying new straps from Baglux

Be careful with the strap around the yoke it is possible to get into the slot for the steering lock it does not affect the steering but it will stop the lock working.
