Just wanted to let you know the following
bought my bike last May from Paul with 418 miles on the clock
its now got 15800 on the clock and has been serviced at 600 - 6000 - 12000 and now before the next journey needs serviceing again
everytime i have stepped foot through the door i have received great service - all the staff are very freindly and helpful and good to have a gas with
i have had a few minor warranty issues with the bike and every time its been sorted without any hassle by Jody
prices are less than any other main dealer for serviceing and i never feel pressurized into buying anything - just left by meself to have what i want.
Today was just a typical visit - Darren taught me how to remove my visor properly from my system 5 without mashing it then carefully showed me how to refit it - then he fitted a new autocom boom in it for me - first class job then as i picked up my keys i noticed my Zumo 550 wouldnt turn on properly so again Darren sauntered over and could see i had a problem and took it off the bike and asked Simon if he could sort it - few mins later no fuss , not asked for extra money - just sorted.
Nice one to all the team at Bahnstormers - good luck with the summer sales.
Give them a try
One last thing when i arrived first thing this morning a director who probably had loads of more impotant things to do took time out to have a gas and make me a coffee
this is just one of the main reasons why this dealers stands way out in front of other wine growing companies
Very last thing - John Gilbride is leaving next week so best of luck John

It's a shame to see John go. I've had a number of dealings with him in the past and he was always a top bloke.

Are they equipped to undertake MOTs now - As I seem to remember they weren't a little while back.

It's always good to see a positive post like this one.

Nice one:thumb

was sad to see john go as he helped me so much and yes top place they have always bent over backwards for me, and nothing is too much trouble.

Yup - they're doing MOT's now - or at least taking the bike to get them done elsewhere.

This was something I complained about last year, the fact that I want a 1 stop shop, and their tyres were way too expensive and they didn't do MOT's. I don't mind paying a bit more, but don't expect to be ripped off.

I don't know what their tyre prices are like this year (must ride more :blast ), but t hey've just serviced my bike, MOT's and it was collected and delivered free of charge.

So all in all they listen to their customers, and they provide good service. Well done John, Jody, Glenn and the rest of the gang.:thumb:thumb

Good luck John - wherever you're off to.

Cheers

I popped in today, to chew the fat and cogitate :thumb.

And watch the mechanics work. :D:D

Always nice to see plenty of customers relaxed and enjoying themselves, sign of a good dealership/shop .

Steppers and Hot Chocolate !

Hot Chocolate
not bad either . Surprised to see a saufh lundun geezer so far off his manor though. But then again I know he has been known to travel well

Frank

Now that's excellent news Paul. I rode over to you on Thursday to say goodbye to John but it was his day off and I missed him. Good to hear that he will still be around. :thumb2

Following the debacle at Vines (see separate thread) I popped in to Bahnstormers yesterday. What a contrast! I was offered coffee by three separate people and everyone seemed most anxious to help... I saw Steve who lived up to the expectations I had of the place from all that I've read. And the roads are brilliant for testing...

Good to see that John is staying on board.

Having the A32/272 et al on their doorstep is rather good really. I must get myself up there again at some point soon.

:bounce1

Pity that Bahnstormers couldn't open up a dealership over here, I really miss their service or even just a rideout past the showroom and popping in for a brew and some wishful thinking with a "virtual lottery win". I always ended up spending money anyhow even if it was only on some minor farkle or something. Keep it up guys, see you in 2010.

We only have one BMW dealer here in WA, and they refused to help me out with a valuation figure to help me register my bike with customs when I imported it last year. I am now doing my own servicing rather than take my pride and joy to the only BMW dealer in WA who were so unhelpful (don't worry I'm a competent engineer). I wouldn't piss on the dealers here if they were on fire.:spitfire

I also really miss the A32/272 and all the backroads from Portsdown Hill to Lower Farringdon I used to ride.:( Don't take 'em for granted Lee, go out and enjoy them mate.

Glad to hear that John is staying BTW.

Typical tosser doing his own servicing

Well what a position we find ourselves in down here.

Good dealerships within reasonable distance and a choice of which to take it to based upon preference alone.

Now that's something I like!

Shock, Horror I did most of the 18k service on my RT last weekend. Just going to take it in to have the throttle bodies and valve clearances done. Quite enjoyed it too. :)

top outfit

i just wanted to add my two penneth....

i went to Bahnstormer to have a few bits done to my 650 Dakar including a free "safety enhancement".

i haven't been back since May when i bought my bike and i was made to feel very welcome, Paul even remembered my name and he must meet loads of people throughout the year.

Keep up the good service guys, the trip down from London is always worth it - thanks

Would like to add my thoughts

Having worked for a large argicultural contractor in the are (alton) i would walk down to bahnstormers just to be nosey in my lunch hour (when i had one). I was always made welcome, well a couple of weeks ago i had a bit of a major smash and killed my old bandit.
That was the start of a dreaqm coming to reality
I had been watching a red 1200gs adventure that the guys at bahnstormers had i did not had all the bells and ding a lings. lest complicated electronics to go wrong. I popped in once my old girl had been written off and spoke to paul. Well by the monday after that saturday i had but the deposit on the bike.
Darren at the showroom had done a awesome deal on all the gear (yes i am now a walking bilboard for bmw, and proud of it)
I picked up the bike on the following saturday.

I would like to thank all the staff at BAHNSTORMERS just the best service, friendly, and knowledgable. When i bought my bandit new two years ago i rode out of the dealers with a grin.
When i rode out of Bahnstormers well from the dealership to home i had a grin that filled my helmet, and im still grinning now

Thankyou Bahnstomer (especially paul and darren)

Good to see the guys getting it right and that you had a positive experience there.

With all the doom and gloom around at the moment its cheered me up to read this. :beerjug:

Am taking the GSA to Bahnstormer to have its 18k mile service next Wednesday ( Not bad on an 8 month old bike!) and to get it "Winterised". I used to use Vines, nothing wrong with them, they usually get it right. The difference is in the way that they treat you. At B'stormers you get a sense of family, a feeling that they care about you and your bike.
It may just be smoke and mirrors, it doesn't matter - the top and bottom is that they will get business in leaner times when others won't as they keep their prices competitive (even though they have gone up recently) and know how to treat their customers. I always used to get a loan bike from Vines and scoot around while my bike was being fixed. At B'stormers, I just hang out, drink coffee and watch them work on the beast through the huge viewing glass - it is just a nicer environment, with nice people :beerjug:
