banning someones numbers from iphone 4

its not jailbroken and im not sure i want to do that as its pretty new.

I'm pretty sure you can't block individual numbers on an i phone. Try your service provider?

I dont think it can be done, even by the Service Provider, depending on circumstances, most will just offer a free number change.

yes this isnt a problem on any generation of iPhone 2g/3G/3gs/4

you use two programs

Mcleaner or iBlacklist

it can block and filter calls/sms/mms

I bought a new sim free iPhone ... But unlike u was tempted by the dark side... And i've never looked back... Never done anything like it before.. Was a tad nervous at first... But it's soooo easy to jailbreak nowadays.. And the advantages ( imo ) r well worth it

2....dont give the lady in question your own number or real name...or address.
3....give her someone elses business card!!!

While it does not stop calls I thought this tip from this weeks iPhone magazine email was interesting

“Annoying Caller” alert!
Persistence is an admirable quality in some circumstances, and very annoying in others. For example, a broker keeps calling you about an investment opportunity involving sub-prime mortgage-based derivatives. “Thanks, but no thanks” may be tolerable once, but having to repeat yourself can get old quickly.

A person posting in the iPhone section at YahooGroups.com had a creative solution for this. Create a single contact and call it “BLOCKED” or “DON’T ANSWER” or something like that. Then, when you have identified a phone number as one you don’t want to answer, enter it in this contact. You can associate a scary ring tone with the contact, or import and select a scary image as the contact’s photo. That way, every time that contact calls you, you’re instantly aware that it’s one you don’t want to answer.

Note that you can enter up to 9 phone numbers in an individual contact, so this single contact can alert you to 9 different annoying callers.

Why not set a silent ringtone for those numbers, then you wouldnt even be aware the pesky types were hassling you
