If I was to replace my handlebars for, say, renthal, is there any way I can get the fixings out and back into the new handlebars that take the long bar end weight bolts?
Thx.
I shortened my bar end weights in order to shorten the handlebars, 20mm either side. Back then there were threads on here describing how to use a captive nut in your replacement bars. Something like those fixings you can get for putting bolts into concrete?

Something to watch out for, the grips are screwed to the bars. You'll need to drill and tap holes into your shiny new Renthals
I was glad I shortened my end-weights but it wasn't easy. I also had to shorten the bolts that hold the end-weights to the bars these are massive (somewhat over-engineered) and extend the thread onto the unthreaded part of the bolt (M8 if I recall correctly). Turns out I needed that O-level in metalwork after all
Maybe try a search of this forum using Renthal and bars ....
