Hi all,

I have just fitted the Wuderlich up and back risers, I re routed the brake and clutch lines as instructed But on full left lock the throttle cable is being streched, and it opens the throttle. Does ? Has ? anyone solved this, can the cable be re routed ??

close up the wee plastic threaded (outer) cable adjuster while on full lock untill the revs die back down, this did the trick on mine.

I have tried this and no joy, it revs to about 4k on full lock, at present the cable goes down the left side of the tank, has anyone re-routed it to the left, this would solve the problem but can it be done ?? or can I get a longer cable.

Drop the fork and run the cable behind it.

The cable is already behind the forks and headstock.

I emailed Nippy Norman, which is where I bought the risers from and the response was that they had not heard of this before, I reckon the cable is about an inch short in its current location.

I am at a loss, Does anyone know how it joins the airbox and if it can be re routed.

Sounds a bit odd to me. I just fitted Rox risers, with a 2.25" lift, straight up, and only had to re-route the cables. Mine's an '05 1200, was yours new when you got it? Perhaps someone was fiddling with it before? I assume there are no cable ties holding the line to the headstock?

I fitted up and back risers and when I turned bars to full left lock I instantly noted my throttle cable stretching but the outer casing of the cable pulled away from the end of the cable by about an inch or so. This scared the shit out of me ( said something like oops ) however it did'nt affect the operation of the throttle so I just put black tape over the area to hopefully waterproof things and I have'nt had a problem since. That was 2 years ago. So dare I suggest that you try pulling your outer cable in the same way. I know this sounds absurd but you sound desperate!!!! BUT remember, the decision is yours.

When I filled ROX Risers I had a problem with the cable. I noticed that the cable ran through a clip fitted to the head stock. When this clip was removed it allowed the cable to move freely and no problems. Hope this helps.

Just wondering if you sorted this.

I have a similar problem in that the throttle cable is very strained at full left lock after fitting risers. I’ve removed the clip holding the cable on the headstock but am still restricted in how much I can adjust the handlebars before the revs shoot up on left lock.

.

I have a similar problem with my NN risers guys.

Re-routing the brake and clutch cables is a simple enough job but the throttle cable is rather taut when on full left lock. Removing it from the little wire clip holder under the headstock did little to slacken it too much.

Any other ideas on how to get more slack out of the throttle cable? Pictures would really help if possible as they're very scarce on this topic.

To give you an idea of the problem, here's the throttle cable as it is as standard (not my bike btw!):

As you can see, the cable is already fairly tight even before the risers have been installed. I don't see how routing the cable above the bars would help, in fact I don't think the cable would be long enough to do that anyway.

Any suggestions?
