I'm doing a round trip to Barcelona in a few weeks. Its a ride all the way, via Folkestone/Calais, thru France, down past (or possibly thru) Andorra and down to Barcelona. The route back is via Perpignon, Grenoble & Saint Quentin.

Anyone got any sound advice re roads or weather? Has anyone done the Alps this time of year as i have the option of a divert to Geneva on the way back.

All advice gratefully recieved.

No advise but I do hope you have got enough time to avoid any motorways or major roads.

I have just come back from a trip to the Bol D'r and Motorland Aragon MotoGP in Spain and I only ever use small D and lesser roads. A bit slower for average speed for sure but nice to be out in the country with no traffic.

I would not go anywhere if it involved big motorway miles.

See the fuel shortage thread, there is a possibility you might have an issue with refuling through France about now, which is I asume when you are headed out ;)

Bon Route :D
