cheers

thanks, looked at that one but 19 euro for tent, 12 for bike, 6 each per night. seems a bit steep, thought these buggers were in steep recession.

Hodge (Yorkshireman) -battle cry- HOW MUCH:eek:

Try Sitges which is south of Barcelona. Me and wifey stayed at a camp site there in a chalet/caravan type thingy but others were tenting it. Sitges is a lovely resort but it is a bit of a gay centre:P

We took the train into Barca to do some sightseeing and there are tourist buses that take you all round the city and you can get off and on as often as you like. Recommended. :thumb

Sorry mate we paid 10 Euro a night for a 28ft campervan, 20ft twinaxle car trailer, Renault Clio and BMW Boxer including electric, WIFI, water 2 people and a dog. It was however out of season, bare in mind they are Spaniards and they need the money,so they steel it when they can. Good Luck with finding somewhere cheaper near Barcelona.

Sitges is defo a lovely place to be and mostly still very unspoilt (and, as said, within very easy reach of Barcelona - either the coast road which is a hoot on a bike, or, 30 mins max by train).

sitges ...Lord Snooty

In 2005 I asked the same question. Lord Snooty, bless you, recommended sitges then.
I rode into Barcelona and asked 2 local coppers the way, my how they laughed, pretending to `mince` around.. strange thunk I.
Arriving in Sitges, tired and confused and discovering it was the Gay and Lesbian festival that week, I thought the ******* recommending this bloody place so I carried on and landed further south at Cunit. A lovely campsite next to the sea and have been there a couple of times since. (try it if you are in the area).
The year after I visited Sitges, I agree it is a lovely town but the ..er.. atmosphere and the ..er.. nightlife :ymca put me off camping there (pun intended).
I was thinking this year of camping closer to Barcelona as Im picking the missus up at the airport then riding on.

Looks like Cunit again unless youve other suggestions.

By the way the campsite at Sitges was packed, not much room between tents.

Cheers

Cunit :thumb2

That's where my folks currently reside.

Sitges is still cool though, the gay 'area' is only a small part of it and even that is all quite laid back/live and let live :)

PS Cunit is on the same train line into Barca and only another 10mins by train on the journey
PPS There are a load of camp sites on the road from the airport on the way to Sitges (airport end) - an area called Castelldefells - don't know what they are like though

There are quite a few camp sites off of the C-31 running South away from the Airport in an area called Gavamar.
Not stayed there but I drive past them regularly and they look clean and tidy from the entrances.
If you dont fancy Sitges then you could look further South @ Tarragonna where a couple of campsites there are on the beach
