Hi, I have a bid on e-bay for a GIT bash plate, does anyone have one of these and if so, what engine bars have you got? Cheers, Neil
Hi
I used to have one (broke 2 bashplates and 2 brackets without going offroad) and used the adv spec bars with it (Good quality bars dropped the bike a few times and only chipped the powdercoat)
Now i have a twalcom bashplate with the adv spec bars

can you send a pic pls
didnt think our twalcom would fit bars {givi}dont and we stock adv spec
so pls pls pic
i will send you a twalcom sticker![]()

Bit of a hijack
Do i see a DeCAT pipe? If so how noticeable is the performance increase?

it sings nicely with the acrapovic (Barks at roaring Tigers
) , rorty,Rort, roar, growl, rumble rumble, pop, pop : interferes with the sub woofers of the lemmings that one filters past and goes down the wires of the Ipod wearing drivers in there world of oblivious to others In my bike rebuild after the trip to Siberia last summer, I spent much of yesterday prior to the clean down stripping non-essentials off. Any extras perceived as adding benefits prior to the trip are now piled up in the corner of the garage.
First to go, if I'd ever taken the headstaggers to buy one, would be that TT tool box. That has to be the greatest design faux-pas I've ever witnessed. I met 2 800's on the trip and they both had tool boxes full of rusted tools and said they were a curse both in weight and design. However, for European touring it hardly matters I guess.
Re engine bars, the adv-spec bars did more damage to my bike than had I not had them at all. In addition, they add far too much weight. What I'd like to do if I was to add any protection is figure out a way to add frame sliders, but that's another day.
So of all the bling people are incessant on throwing at their bikes in the 800 section, a good bash plate, hand-guards, modified exhaust and suspension are the only things I'd want on my bike...oh and a small tank bag and Giant Loop coyote bag.

its protectant and insurance and i like the look, heavy duty, rugged tank like, armour car like, (german Puma like)
perspex light guard
foes the heavy guy miss ourt somewhere on the trip

where do you carry your tools or do you use a support vehicle.
but i agree in europe as most do its different a lot of us have way to many comitments, wifes, kids, business blah blah, but europe and sam manicom books with the odd ABR son becoming Bi monthly
are OK
