Just about to order an Adventure Spec Bash Plate for a F650gs twin 2010. AS have referred me to BMW part no 71607704773 for 4 no mounting bolts. £28 but from a sketch they don't look like the anti vibe studs I was expecting ie. a rubber bobbin with an M6 (a quick vernier measure) stud protruding from each end.
I can buy the rubber bobbin types from an industrial supplier at much less but it would be very much appreciated if one of you chaps with either a 650 or an 800 could advise the dimensions of the anti vib bobbins on your bike. The length of the rubber bobbin is the dimension particularly I am after.
Cheers.

This is the kit.

Those bolts (BM call them Silentblocks) are, in essence, two bolts with the heads stuck together in a very hard rubber.

The black section is 15.5 mm long

You can't see it from my pic but the two threaded studs are different lengths. The longer protruding stud is 14 mm

The shorter 12 mm

The bolts are M8

Silentblocks to engine block torque of 19 NM

Best,

S

Silentblocks! It took BMW 40 plus years to copy the mounting system used for an oil tank on a Norton Commando. It took Harley 30 plus years to copy an isolastic system for the Sportster.
Everything old is new again.

If you don't have any luck with your suplier I have 4 spare BMW ones

Thanks Chaps for the replies especially a big thanks to Smythson. I was intending to make enquiries with an auto supplier but now I think I will go for the kosher BMW part.

cheers
