Bash Plate Studs...

Hi Guys,

Just remembered; some of the studs the bash-plate fixes to on the sump have come off; the bonding has broken. Anybody know of any good stuff to re-fit them with? (1100)

Its all one piece.The centre bit is rubber with a thread part and metal plate bonded to either side of it.There are 2 different part nos for front and rear.

Crash plate.

When you replace the bushes put them in with copper slip, these sometimes go with a bang on the crash bars / sump plate and this will make the easier to remove.

Hmm, Thanks for the answers guys, but we seem to be a bit cross-threaded here. I've got four dome-headed (similar to coach bolts) bolts, M8, about 1 1/2 inches long. The domed head was bonded in to a corresponding depression in the sump; the bash plate (maybe I should say sump-guard) which has an inner and outer then sits on these studs, held in place by Nylock nuts. it's the studs I need to fit back to the sump.

No -your getting confused - the part you need is all one piece. It's a rubber block bonded between two studs.

Yours have broken/are fecked/are of no use/finished/kaput.

You need part 3 in the diagram in the previous post.

Cheers for that Kenny, I tried to find same on the sticky at the top, but it aint on there. I think I'd maybe have to have a closer look at the sump on mine, going off the diagram, the bits the studs fit on to should screw out? Not now though, off to bed, another shift to do tonight...

Just been too have a quick look at the sump. There are four rubber 'blocks' bonded either to the sump itself, or to bits that then screw in to the sump. they are flush to the sump, except the one at the front right, which is actually stuck to something with two flats on it, maybe for spanner?
And I've never had anything like the No 3, a spacer between the two parts; as I said, the two parts just fitted together over one long stud (x4). I can't get at those at the moment as they're in a mate's garage about five miles away, along with the bash plate.
No hurry, when I get them/it back I'll take some photos and post. Cheers all.

By the way Steptoe, me getting confused? Believe me that aint difficult at the best of times, and after two Rum-and-Cokes to follow a ten hour night shift, now isn't the best of times!

In the diagram above...I can't remover part 3. I have removed the bashplate but cannot shift the little rubber mount things, I've snapped one off and don't want to force the other 3 incase I break them too....

There is no need to remove the rubber mounts unless they're broken and you need to replace them.
