Anyone know of an aftermarket bashplate that does it's job? I've ripped mine off once on a GS and now twice on a GSA, twice without even noticing it (but retrieved it later both times), last time in the HUMM!

It seems the stock rubber mounts (which most aftermarket plastes seem to use) are the problem, in that the rubber breaks very easily, but I can see the danger of attaching the plate more rigidly. But maybe there is aftermarket one that has stronger mounts (but slightly weaker than than the crankcase!)?

Have a look at the Touratech one. I've got one fitted to my HP and it does away with the rubber mounts and bolts to the frame, maybe the GS one is similar?

1200? right?

Thanks Spout, I've had a look on their website, and am confused! I think I'll give them a call Monday.

Is their customer service any better than it was?

Never had a problem.
Bought lots of goodies for my 650, 1150 and HP. Order Monday, delivered Wednesday every time (except once when I was told, whilst ordering, it would be a fortnight ) :clap

I have the Wunderlich plate. It retains th erubbers mounts, but has an addtional bracket that fixes direct to the front of the crankcase.

Seesm to have done its job in Morocco. Beware the mounting screws though, they are typical Wunderlich low quality, best to replace with better quality items.
