and i think ill eventually buy a bat wing fairing ,yes i could get a glide and it will be on there allready, but ive spoken to the guy ,who owns this bike ,and hes even more anal ,than me about stuff ,servicing cleaning (not eveyones thing granted) but he"s a fusser .
and i know this bike is a good one ,low milage , super clean (will stay that way most of the time ,we are what we are).
all bolts changed for stainless ,if rusty, etc etc .
now cleaning and all that shiny stuff is not to every ones taste ,or liking ,but we all want to buy a good one to start with .....

I would love a roadking with detachable batwing!!... Best of all worlds..

I agree

A detachable batwing on a Road king gives the best of both worlds.

There are a ton of different Batwings available ranging from cheap (Memphis Shades) to Woodies or Dead Centre (£1500 plus shipping from US)

I eventually went with a Sportech sold through Kuryakyn and added the amp and speaker kit which you just connect your Mp3 to. All in cost £900 including paint by Art attack in Plymouth.

I did do a bit of bracket adapting and fitted memphis shades quick release brackets which makes it very easy to clip on and off.

that tsukaya is a great site ,im off to the states twice next year ,so maybe will bring a fairing and saddlebags (low bagger style) back with me .
i sense mrs a ,will not be happy though (nothing new there then).
cheers mutley ,youve just cost me about two grand !!!!!

I'll wheel her out tomorrow and get some better shots.

The loom supplied has a Q/D plug which allows connection around the headstock. The rest of the loom runs under the tank in the wiring tray and connects to the acc socket under the seat just behind the tank mount. I bought the 4 pin plug to connect to the tails of the new loom which then plugs straight into the oem socket. This socket is switched by the little toggle on the opposite side to the passing lamp switch, this is live when the ign or acc is selected. I'll photo the socket as well.

The brackets use the stock plastic bushes you clip the stock screen on to so you can go between batwing and stock easily. We're talking 1min max to switch between the 2.

When I remove the fairing, I detatch the qd plug at the headstock, flip up the latches and lift away the fairing and she is off. Fitting is the reverse.
