I’m sure there must be plenty of folks on here use one of these chargers.
I have just bought one off a fine gent from here. Before I take him up on his offer of a refund I thought I’d ask here for advice.
So,my bike is a 2013 twin cam 1200gsa. When I first plugged the charger in the red error light came on. I tried again with the bike ignition on when plugging the charger in, that seemed to work with the top lights flashing and eventually showing 1/3rd charged. However, after Being plugged in all night and all of today it is still only 1/3rd charged.
Is it me doing something wrong or is the unit at fault?
Thanks
Paul.

Put a meter across the battery terminals when it plugged in and read how many bolts it’s pumping out.

Below is sequence from the manual for connecting this charger. I have posted it a couple of times because I could not get same charger to work until I used this sequence on a 2008 GS, charger would heat up overnight but no green light indicating full charge.... and it took me ages to find the instruction. Usually bods come along and say "xx model bike works fine" etc etc....... I think maybe different bikes canbus systems behave differently. I would say though that if after this sequence you still only get 1/3 charge then maybe battery has failed. Here you go FWIW and good luck:

ATTENTION!!!! You must first turn the key on to the bike, then you plug the charger into the accessory socket, then you plug the charger into the wall for power, then you turn the key off.
Failure to do it this way will result in the charger not charging the battery and overheating.

Many thanks for taking the time to post that. I followed the instructions to the letter but still only showing 1/3rd charged.
