Battery Charging

Hi, looking for some advice regarding battery chargers.

Can you get a charger that simply plugs into the 12v standard accessory socket as supplied or do you need to wire direct to the battery as per Optimate?

I've got an Optimate that plugs directly into the socket thingy on the bike...although I think I had to pay an extra £10 for the connector....

Go to Lidl's and buy the charger that is on offer for a fiver.Buy a BMW(Hella) type plug off fleabay.Job done for less than a tenner.The charger is one that will do the same job as the optimate.
