Annoyed at removing my side cover to fit my trickle charger to my battery and losing the rubber grommet the cover goes in then checked the other side to find no grommet there either , Brand new GSA too and wondering if they were there in the first place.

Same happened to me. I filled the hole partially with hot glue gun. Cover fits nice and snug

Seems like a common problem due to a lousy solution.
What works for me is that I used a small zip-tie and fastened the grommet to the frame. I also lubricate the grommet with grease for smoother entry.
I would expect the dealer to keep these grommets in stock. I think I paid 20p for one.

I stood on my cover the other day after putting it under the bike (for safety) !!
