Battery Monitor

As far as I am concerned you should never realy need a monitor if your battery is in good order. If it isnt then replace with a new one. And go gel. search on the forum for westco. I have one and it is the dogs compared to the oem bmw one.

I've got something similar on mine but it's got a box of electrickal goodness to work it's magic as well.
It certainly works, but I do find I worry about the battery more when it's not a nice green colour, whereas before I lived in ignorance of the state of my battery.
Google Signal Dynamics to find the one I've got.

Had one for a number of years on my Pan European- now sold. It does have it's uses - it's a bit like the alternator light on a car, it just lets you know the alternator is working. I had it switched thru the ignition rather than having it illuminated all the time - just the thing to kill a battery.

never suffered a flat battery - the original lasted 9 years!! - and it began to let me know when the battery eventually began to let go and the alternator was working harder and harder to keep it charged.
