Still on the original now getting on five years.
Replace or not ?

I would, because I like planned Preventative maintenance but there’s a big place in life for don’t fix what ain’t broke…..
If you’re flush enough, buy a spare to have on the shelf at home, presumably it’s a readily available battery Doc?

That's my thinking. Would rather replace for peace of mind.
And yes readily available as I'll get a original for which the collective have said to buy before.

If it’s for your Harley, I’d definitely change to a 500CCA lithium. For no other reason than they really spin the starter motor unlike the barely cranking stock ones.
I went for the German JMT one, but concede there might be better now since I bought my one 2 or 3 years ago 🤔

Batteries are funny things, they can last 3 years or 15 years, not necessarily depending on how you’ve looked after them

Personally I’d wait until it starts showing signs of fatigue
And knowing my luck it would happen whilst away. Although stuff can happen at any time.

For total peace of mind, you need one of these.....

I however would not......

I would fit a Motobatt Hybrid battery instead. Designed for big twins like Harleys and BMW's.

All the advantages of both AGM and Lithium in one battery, with none of the charging issues.

Details of my own battery saga in the 1250 section under the"big pile of dogshit" thread if you are that bored.

I have a Noco Si.

Sorted then......worry ye not about your battery. ;) :D

exactly

although my jump pack was bought some years ago and was last used in anger when my S1000XR refused to start at a Tesco petrol station in May 2020. Should I now be having anxiety about my Ebay special jump pack? Maybe, but I have LV= Britannia Rescue on speed dial.
