A friend recently highly recommended me this museum and forest walk which is on the Eiffel/Ardennes border. It commemorates the Battle of Hurtgenwald (Hurtgen Forest) in 1944.

I have not had an opportunity to visit it yet, so i cannot give it a personal recommendation.

Also, bare in mind that the museum is only open on Sundays betwwen March and November: this is because it is run by volunteers

Wish I had seen this post before my last trip (Sept 2015). Has stayed just down the road in Heimbach and didn't know this museum existed - possibly even rode past without realising it was there.

This part of the Eifel National Park has some good riding and is within an easy ride to some of the Ardenne / Battle of the Bulge sites such as Malmedy.

LandHaus Weber in Heimbach - a quiet wee guest house at 52 euro a night single. An excellent Half-Board evening meal add 23 euro.

Biker Ranch cafe /restaurant seems a popular local bike meeting point: http://www.biker-ranch-eifel.de/
